USBIO is a generic Universal Serial Bus (USB) device driver for Windows CE and Windows Mobile. It is able to control any type of USB device and provides a convenient programming interface that can be used by Windows CE applications.
The USBIO device driver can be used for devices that are not supported by in-box USB class drivers. It provides a programming interface that enables applications to communicate with the USB device. Any device or vendor specific protocol must be implemented in the application.
USBIO fills the gap between application layers and USB devices. It saves effort otherwise required to develop a custom device driver for a proprietary device.
The C++ API and Java API exposed by the USBIO device driver for Windows CE/Mobile are compatible with the well-established APIs of Thesycon’s USBIO for Windows 10. This simplifies porting of existing applications to Windows CE or Windows Mobile.
Note: A compatible USB driver is available for Windows 10.

The demo version of the driver stops working after 2 hours. To reset the demo timer, the USB device needs to be disconnected and reconnected, or the platform needs to be rebooted.
For each USB device model an official USB vendor ID (VID) is required. Vendor IDs must be unique and will be assigned by the USB Implementers Forum (www.usb.org). Registration fees will be charged.
Thesycon owns a USB vendor ID and offers a subset of product IDs (PID) to device vendors. For customers who have licensed USB software from Thesycon this service is free of charge.
